The Royal Docks Management Authority Limited (RoDMA) team manages the water areas and marine infrastructure of this unique stretch of the Thames.

Scott Derben

Managing Director

Scott has been at RoDMA since April 2014 and was recruited to lead the refurbishment and programmed maintenance of all RoDMA assets. Before that he studied for an MSc in Renewable Energy Engineering and ran his own healing practice. He also served as an officer in the Royal Engineers for 27 years. He has an infrastructure background and 20 years of professional diving experience.

Stephen Bramhall

Head of Finance

Steve joined the team in September 2011. An experienced company finance director, he developed his skills in both world-leading international corporates and small and medium sized UK companies. His sector experience includes technology, media, telecoms, mobile phones, fashion, manufacturing, banking and defence systems. Steve spent 12 years at Motorola in senior positions. He was also chairman of the Motorola pension fund trustee board.

Toni Cox

Events Manager

Toni joined the RoDMA team back in 2014 as Administration Manager. As the team expanded her role evolved to Events and Commercial Manager and saw the introduction of Open Water Swimming into the docks. Now back from maternity leave, Toni is acting solely as Events Manager for RoDMA and hopes to be involved with many new and exciting events in the coming months.

Le Hang

Accountant

Le joined The Royal Docks in October 2012. Prior to RoDMA, Le worked at The Electoral Commission as Senior Finance officer.  Le is a qualified accountant with ACCA, and has over 15 years’ experience in finance roles in Public and Private sectors including New World Housing Associations, Council of ethnic Minority Voluntary Organisations and Evergreen Marine UK Ltd.

Katrina Beaumont

HR & Office Manager

Katrina joined RoDMA in April 2019 initially to cover Toni whilst on maternity leave. Katrina’s role has now evolved to include HR. Katrina is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD). After many years working within the graphic design sector Katrina has enhanced her knowledge by working in roles within both the public and private sector.

Will McKee

Operations Manager

Will joined the team in December 2022. Will is responsible for managing all operations in the Royal Docks and to drive forward excellence in health, safety, security, and environment.

Before this he has spent 19 years working on and around the Thames and UK coastline on Workboat and Passengers boats. The last 10 years of which was as Operations Manager for a larger commercial operator controlling passenger and workboat operations.

Nigel Bullen

Engineering Manager

Nigel joined the RoDMA team in October 2018 to primarily lead on all engineering projects around the Royal Docks estate. Some of the items that he is responsible for, but not limited to, are 5 bridges, sewage stations, impound station/pumps, infrastructure upkeep.
Prior to that he spent 4.5 years at the Woolwich Ferry as the technical lead and took responsibility for the serviceability of the vessels and ownership of infrastructure projects. He has also served a fulfilling 30 years in the Royal Navy Submarine service where he gained valuable experience in both mechanical and electrical engineering.

The Marine Team

Chris Metcalfe, John Stroud and Axele Molloy together make up the marine team for RoDMA. With 60 years of experience between them, they are responsible for maintaining all aspects of the docks (including operations, HSE and general upkeep of the estate). They are appointed to uphold the bylaws by duty of the Harbour Master and have a high level of maritime skills and training.

The Engineering Team

Willie Robertson, Dave Sloat and Harley Rawlings together make up the engineering team for RoDMA. With 48 years of experience between them, they are responsible for the planned and reactive engineering and electrical maintenance of the Royal Docks. With a background in Automation of Electrical Control Systems and Hydraulics, Willie Robertson has been working on the Royal Docks for 25 years and has been involved in the regeneration of the docks throughout that time. Together, the engineering team have a vast knowledge in their field and continue help to keep the Royal Docks up and running.

 

The Security Team

Made up of Ray Barker, Mehran Almasi and Lennox Austrie, the security team are responsible for monitoring one of the largest enclosed marine estates in the world. RoDMA monitor the docklands 24 hours a day, 365 days a year through our Operations and CCTV control centre in KGV Lock.
