Lovesportsevents team up with London Royal Docks Open Water Swimming to host the third Dock2Dock swim race at London’s Royal Docks on Saturday, July 28.
Due to the expansion of London City Airport, the 10k race now involves two laps of Royal Albert Dock and Royal Victoria Dock. For the second year running, there is a 5km option, which will be one lap of the two docks.
A new 1500m swim event has also been added to the Dock2Dock experience for 2018.
So whether you are looking to enter your first open water event or take on the ultimate swimmers’ marathon, the Dock2Dock race now offers a range of distances to suit all abilities.
London’s unique and historic water race offers a unique opportunity for this open water swimming race in the heart of the vibrant East End.

Meanwhile, Royal Docks Open Water Swimming will be opening for the summer season on 1st April 2018.
Four sessions will run each week in April: Wednesday 4-8pm, Thursday 6-9.30am, Friday 4-8pm, Sunday 7-10am, with group training sessions also available. For competitive training, whether for a triathlon or a ‘Great Swim’, the open space has three standard race distances marked; 400 meters – the distance used in the Super Sprint triathlons, 750 meters – set for Sprint distance triathlons and 1500 meters – the course used for Olympic Triathlons. Separate courses are offered for complete beginners.
If you find the idea of putting on a wetsuit and sliding into the docks for the first time intimidating, don’t worry. There are group and 1-2-1 coaching sessions to support you at the start of your open water adventure.
Extra sessions will be added throughout April and there will be six sessions a week throughout the summer.
Further information on times and sessions can be found at the Open Water Swimming site.
